Fold it

Take your cup and fold it in half so that the lips touch together. Then, slowly bend the cup in half again lengthwise.

Insert it

Stand with one leg up, sit on the toilet, or squat like it's hot. Then slide the cup up and back toward your tailbone. Ta-da! You did it. Check to make sure the cup is in the right place by inserting a finger into your vagina and running it between the cup and your vaginal wall. This will create space for the cup to open fully.

Wear it for 12 hours

Take swim class, jump from a high dive, present to the board with confidence, go where the wind takes you - whatever. We've got you covered for up to 12 hours.

Remove and wash it

Our revolutionary pull-tab makes removal a breeze. Give it a gentle pull to release the seal. Pull FLEX Cup free from your vagina with one hand and catch it with the other (holding it upright). Empty the contents into the toilet. Then wash the cup for 20 seconds with soap and warm water.

Flex Cup FAQs

Why choose Flex Cup?

Flex Cup is the only menstrual cup in the world designed to be as easy to remove as a tampon, thanks to its patented pull-tab. No more struggling to pinch the base of your menstrual cup to break the seal during removal: Flex Cup’s pull-tab does it for you. Just loop a finger through the ring and pull down slowly but firmly.

Made with 100% medical-grade silicone, our reusable cup is body-safe and beginner-friendly. Flex Cup provides up to 12 hours of leak protection and has a velvety-soft feel to maximize comfort. The pull-tab is adjustable, too, making it easy to reach for removal (even if you have a high cervix).

Can I wear Flex Cup with an IUD?

Lots of Flex Cup users have IUDs!

There is a small risk of any internally worn menstrual product getting caught on your IUD—including tampons, menstrual discs, and menstrual cups. That’s why we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider or Ob/Gyn prior to using a new period product if you have an IUD. They will have more information about your specific IUD and how it’s positioned in relation to your internal anatomy. They can also trim your IUD strings shorter if needed.

For more info, check out our blog article about using menstrual cups and discs with an IUD.

Will Flex Cup work for a heavy period?

Many of our customers with heavy periods swear by Flex products. Flex Cup is a great option for users with heavy flows. Size 01 holds the equivalent of 2 super tampons, while Size 02 holds the 3 super tampons-worth of period blood. Plus, the cup's adjustable pull-tab makes it easy to remove, empty mid-wear, and reinsert on the heaviest of days.

How do I insert Flex Cup?

The key to inserting Flex Cup is to find a fold and insertion method that works best for you. Using a menstrual cup should be easy, but as with any new period product, it can take a little practice to master the technique!

First and always, wash your hands. It’s a good idea to refresh your cup, too, by cleaning it with warm water and a mild soap or cleanser (like Flex Foaming Cleanser). Next, fold your cup (check out our favorites here). Once folded insert your cup into the vaginal canal as high or low as you'd like. Run your finger between the cup and your vaginal wall to make sure it’s popped open all the way.

You’re all set! Some users will do some squats or shimmy to make sure the cup is in place.
