Flex Pads & Liners Duo

While preparing for the arrival of my 3rd baby, I made sure to stock my bathroom with all the extra-glamourous items I knew I’d need for that first month, post-delivery: peribottle, witch hazel spray, Dermoplast, and a mountain of giant pads. Normally when I’m on my period, I alternate between tampons and a menstrual cup, so I wasn’t exactly looking forward to wearing bulky pads during those first few weeks. But I just sort of accepted this was how things had to be. Except! This wasn’t how they had to be! A friend introduced me to Flex’s pads and gave me a box to try a couple weeks before my due date. I decided to put them to the ultimate test: how would they hold up against my postpartum bleeding? Turns out, they hold up - literally everything and without any leaking. In fact, I was able to get by on just the regular pads (I actually returned the boxes of Always maxi pads I bought that are featured on almost every postpartum necessities list after making this discovery). Flex's pads are a dream to sit in, sleep in, sweat in, be naptrapped in - the bamboo material is so soft and thin and, apologies for the TMI but this is important, my stitches never caught on the fabric. They're so good that even now after having kids, I don't dread being on my period the way I did before, thanks to these. I bought these just to see if they would be better than the pads I normally use. I have extremely sensitive skin and all pads cause me swelling and pain that often lasts weeks after my period is over. It gets worse as I age. So, I was willing to pay $10 if it made things better.

Let me tell you…. This is the first cycle a I’ve had in decades where I wasn’t swollen and in pain from pads (I use the disc too, but my flow is so heavy I have to do a disc and a pad, it’s always been that way no matter what I used). They fit great. I love that the longest ones not only have adhesive for the wings around the panties, but also the larger area at the back to hold that part in place too. That was great! And, they are so super absorbent, and I felt zero wetness during my whole cycle. It quickly pulled everything away from the skin and into the pad. Even when my days were heavy enough I could see the “blood” through the bottom of the pad, it never once leaked through.

I am definitely going to buy these for every cycle to use with my disc for backup protection. These are absolutely amazing. Thank you Flex for a great product that works as it says and gives this woman the first real comfort in almost 40 years.
