As a black woman in my mid-40s, it’s been interesting trying new methods and using new tools for my feminine health needs… But I am thrilled to say that by stepping out of my comfort zone (in this and other areas) I discovered Flex Period Discs and there’s no way I’m going back! Ha ha.
I am doing my best to share this positive message with my doctor, my family and my friends, because most women from my community have no idea that products like this are out there and available to us.

I have been using a menstrual cup for several years now, to save money and be eco friendly. The cup had a learning curve for insertion and removal, and even after years of use, I would still sometimes be spending 10+ minutes in the morning trying to get it to open and suction. I had the opportunity to try a flex disposable disc for the first time and wow! No learning curve for me- went in so easy. Taking it out was no problem either. I wore it on my heaviest day and didn’t have any leaks even after 12ish hours. So satisfied that I preferred a kit the next day! I’m excited to have the option of my old cup and a new reusable flex disc. I work outdoors and sometimes don’t have access to a bathroom for 8+hours, so tampons and pads don’t work well for me. Happy to be done with them for good now.

I truly cannot feel it at all, it is a little difficult at first to insert it and be sure its behind your pubic bone, but my cramps have been so much better so far! It can be a learning curve but once you get the hang of it, SUPER EASY!!! I do recommend getting a box of gloves just for removal purposes, because it can be messy or i could even recommend removing in the shower as well.

I bought these for a vacation where I was going to have my period. I was so upset but hopeful for these.
I gotta say, I am *never* going back to tampons and pads. It's comfortable, lasts for 12 hours and I had sex with it inside of me - no leakage and my partner had no idea. You honestly cannot feel it inside of at all.
