Flex Disc sits somewhere different

Flex menstrual disc insertion diagram

Unlike other period products that sit in the vaginal canal, Flex Disc sits in the vaginal fornix. Plus, Flex Disc collects fluid rather than absorbing it like a tampon.

HOW IT WORKS

A helpful guide to Flex Disc insertion, wear & removal.

Hand folding a menstrual disc for insertion against a white background

PINCH

Flex Disc may look big but it’s actually smaller than a tampon when inserted. Start by washing your hands and pinch it in half.

INSERT

Use a clean finger to push the disc back and down toward the cervix, then tuck it up and behind the pubic bone.

WEAR

Once the disc is in place, you should be comfortable and unable to feel it. You can wear it safely for up to 12 hours.

REMOVE

To remove, hook a clean finger under the rim of the disc and pull straight out. Keep it parallel to the floor to avoid spillage.

DISPOSE

Pour the liquid into the toilet, and wrap the disc in toilet paper (or a Flex Eco Disposal Pouch) before tossing it in the trash.

    Not completely sold yet...

I have been using period underwear for many years and love them, but they are bulky, and not ideal for vacations, or days in or around water. So I decided to try the flex disk for these occasions, as I don't think I can ever go back to tampons at this point. Inserting was easy, and I couldn't feel it at all throughout the day.. + for the flex disk. I don't generally have debilitating cramps but they're there and did not feel any less present with the flex disk in. The fact that it empties when you pee is great, but as other reviewers have mentioned, those muscles are sometimes used when doing other things (a big sneeze, a heavy lift, etc) so that can be a little scary - I would suggest having a backup the first time you try. I didn't experience that but I did wear my period underwear, just in case, and tried it on my easiest at days at work so no heavy lifting and was careful when sneezing.... Overall - it's not bad but my biggest complaint is the fact that you have to put it back in place after you pee, to avoid leaking. I drink a lot of liquids during the day so I pee, a lot, and I work in a place where I don't have access to my own bathroom, I usually have to use a public restroom. So having to put it back in place after you pee, when you can't access a sink to wash your hands in before you do it, is pretty tricky. I will keep them around in place of tampons for certain occasions but I don't think they will replace my period underwear quite yet.

    Absolute Game Changer

I first tried them 2023. I used Cups before but wanted to try Discs for the longest. I hate Tampons and Pads. Flex was a Game Changer for me. Currently we are in Germany and I even have them shipped here since they are not available on Base or in any local Drugstore. So worth it. My Period was usually super heavy and long. Now since using the Discs and Period Panties my Flow isn’t as heavy and long anymore. It took some Practice to get them sit comfortably but once you figure it out it’s smooth sailing.

Every period go to (for myself at least.)

Okay, so when I first discovered these I wasn't sure. I did so much research lol. The first time it hurt, not terribly just like a stretch typa hurt. But it was only the first 3 times (I genuinely think I was doing something wrong lol) but after figuring out what the easiest way to use for me was it's been smooth sailing. I have the reusable disks as well. I have heavy periods and generally I don't have to wear a liner while wearing the flex disk (sometimes leaks occur but like I said I am a heavy bleeder).

I could keep going about how this is an amazing product. Highly recommend. Super convenient and clean.

    10/10 recommend ✨

I bought the flex menstrual cup a little while ago and have found it to be somewhat uncomfortable.

But, 2 of these came in the box with the cup and I decided to try it & I will not be going back to the cup or tampons.

No leaking, easy to insert, self emptying, no messy period sex, etc….

    BUY IT :)
