▶️ Watch how it works
If you’re new to Flex Disc, your comfort is worth the learning curve. Our team of Flexperts is available to walk you through your first time.
1. Pinch it. Wash your hands and pinch the disc in half. Once it's pinched, it's about the width of a tampon.
2. Insert and tuck. Angle it down and back toward your tailbone, push it as far back as it goes, then tuck the front rim up behind your pubic bone. Then forget about it for up to 12 hours.
3. Hook and remove. Hook a finger under the rim, pull slowly and keep it level to prevent any spillage. Pro tip: For a low-stress first removal, try taking your disc out while in the shower.
Why you'll love Flex Disc
Real bodies. Real reviews.
Living with PCOS is very difficult. My last period lasted for 11 days and I had to change my tampon every hour or less because I had such a heavy flow... I tried Flex. Best decision I have ever made! It's comfortable and I can still do whatever I want without worrying about it.
PMOS (formally known as PCOS)
After I had my daughter a few months ago tampons were so uncomfortable... post partum periods are ROUGH... It's like nothing is there... I actually forgot I was on my period for most of the day.
POSTPARTUM
I'm on day 3 and have to actually REMIND MYSELF that i have to change my disc. Have zero cramps. Have zero leaks.
PERIOD CRAMPS
before i was going through a super tampon an overnight pad every hour now with the discs i can go up to three hours and no leaks.
HEAVY BLEEDING
I was usually fine with just a regular tampon and pads, until I hit Perimenopause... I really still don't know how I would be able to hold employment at this stage without this disc.
PERIMENOPAUSE
I have the worst cramps ever and a very heavy flow... switching over to these flex discs was truly a life changer. Much less cramping, and no worries of over flooding super tampons. [...] Truly the best switch of my life. If you’re thinking about it, just go and do it.
PERIOD CRAMPS
I have endometriosis and after I started using the discs, it actually HELPED my cramps! It's cleaner than tampons/pads/period underwear. Reduces risk for TTS. Can hold up to 5+ super tampons. Can be worn while sleeping, swimming and...... Sex. I'm never using anything else besides these. Thank you.
ENDOMETRIOSIS
I just want to say how obsessed I am with the flex disc !!! I am usually a pad girl but with festival season around the corner I caved in and and let me tell you I will forever be purchasing and switching to this side (; Forever grateful for this product 🫂

Honest answers to your most common questions
-
Flex Disc currently comes in one size and was designed to fit a wide range of bodies. It sits in the vaginal fornix (just beneath your cervix) instead of in the canal, so it doesn't press on your vaginal walls the way a cup or tampon can. And the fornix just so happens to be the widest part of the vaginal canal. So if you’ve had trouble with a cup before, don’t be afraid of a disc based on how it looks. That said, Flex Disc does run on the larger side in terms of discs. If it's not right for your body, don’t give up on discs altogether. There may be another option in your drugstore aisle that works better.
-
Flex Disc shouldn’t leak as long as it’s inserted correctly, fully surrounding your cervix. When you’re learning, we recommend wearing a liner for the first couple of days. Most leaks come from a disc that isn't pushed all the way back, isn’t fully tucked behind your pubic bone, or from overflow on a heavy day. If it empties a little when you use the bathroom, that's normal: your pelvic floor relaxes and the disc can slip forward, letting a little fluid out into the toilet. Just tuck it back up with a clean finger when you’re done.
-
Removal can take some practice, but don’t worry: your disc can’t get lost! If it feels hard to reach, try removing in the shower when your body is more relaxed, changing positions (like a low squat or a leg up on the toilet), or using your pelvic floor muscles to gently bear down and push the disc forward. Then just hook a finger under the rim and pull. There's no suction seal to break. If you're stuck, our Flexperts can walk you through it.
-
Lots of Flex Disc users have IUDs, and the disc doesn't use suction to stay in place, which may reduce the risk of accidental IUD expulsion. Every IUD sits a little differently, though, so check with your doctor or Ob/Gyn before using any internally worn product. They'll know how your specific IUD is positioned.

Yes, but make sure to use a fresh disc before intercourse. Some people will see a little residual blood from your vaginal walls. As long as the disc is inserted correctly, it will be up and out of the way for sex, sitting beneath your cervix to catch any blood while leaving your vaginal canal clear. If your disc feels low at first or it causes any discomfort for you or your partner, you may just need more foreplay: your vaginal canal expands when you're aroused, and your disc will typically move farther back as that happens. If you continue to experience any discomfort, it’s best to stop, wait a bit, and remove your disc. If you use lube, make sure it’s water-based. After sex, wait 30 minutes to an hour before taking it out so your body can settle. Flex is not a contraceptive and doesn't protect against STIs. If you use condoms, friction with the disc can make them less effective, so use a backup method.
