Bachelorette party on the beach with no bathroom approved

Omg this disc saved my life on a bachelorette party on the beach. No leaks. Another girl that was there that was wearing a tampon had a major leak I told her about the flex disc. I cannot wear anything inside my vaginal canal I always feel it and it’s so uncomfortable. You cannot feel this at all and I feel fresh and clean because I’m not sitting in a sopping wet pad or period underwear. I do use period underwear with the disc as a backup only but I hardly ever have any leaks if I do they are very slight. The self empty part of this is the best thing ever and allows me to empty without having to remove it. There is a learning curve but I got the hang of it after 2-3 cycles. Never going back to disposable period products!

SAVED MY LIFE FROM THE ENDOMETRIOSIS SUPER HEAVEY FLOW

I have used tampons plus backup pads for most of my life due to my super heavy flow and horrible debilitating periods plus endometriosis. When I first discovered Flex discs I was skeptical that it would be any better than what I was used to. I WAS WRONG! These things are a game changer: I can swim, I can work long shifts, I can do whatever I want while wearing one and the only thing that happens when my flow is at its heaviest is a bit of auto-dumping when I go to the bathroom. If the disc becomes too full, the seal is broken by the force of the pelvic muscles during urination. However, when that happens all I have to do is (with clean hands) push it back into place. They have given me back my freedom. Also, I have never given birth (as is recommended before you use certain kinds or sizes menstrual cups) and these are very easy for me to insert.

Unfortunately, using flex discs did not lessen the severity of my cramps, but that was not the reason I switched to them and I wasn’t too disappointed because I know my cramps and period pain are extremely severe. So that wasn't a dealbreaker.

A word of advise: if you have to poop, wash your hands before going to the toilet and remove the disc FIRST, empty your bowels, wash your hands again THOROUGHLY, and then insert a new disc. In my personal experience, it’s very difficult to insert the disc when you are about to poop because there’s less space in the vagina when the rectum is full.

    The only people I wouldn’t recommend these…

    10/10 love

I got the disposable ones because I wasn’t sure about a reuseable flex disc and these are great, weird to insert at first but once you get used to it it’s a life changer. My cramps have been nonexistent and my periods are actually shorter! It’s great to not have a tampon string or have to worry about smell. I will say if you don’t change after 12 hours or if you have very heavy flow there is a risk of leakage but it depends on each person, I only had leaks the first period I tried this

What??? How did I live without this? 😭💖

Decided to give this one a try after my GP told me I needed to avoid period cups (I have a copper IUD, which means suuuuper heavy periods). Got it in the post yesterday, the packaging is gorgeous, and after watching videos of the founder of Flex talk about it, it’s so obvious that a lot of hard work and clever engineering has gone into creating this genius little life-saver.

Super easy to insert, and honestly can’t even feel it’s there at all. Huge bonus: sleeping with the disc in! I’m for sure throwing away my dedicated, blood-stained period sheets as I won’t be needing them anymore 🤣
