Can I use the bathroom while wearing a menstrual disc?

Yes—you can pee, poop, whatever you need to do while wearing a menstrual disc. It will stay out of the way. Keep in mind that a little bit of bathroom leakage is totally normal (and actually a good thing!).

When you use the bathroom, you engage your pelvic floor muscles, which can push your disc out from behind the pubic bone, letting a little fluid out into the toilet. This technique is called hands-free emptying.

Just remember to use a clean finger to tuck your disc back up into place when you’re done.

Note: Consult with your physician prior to using Flex Disc, Flex Reusable Disc, or Flex Plant+ Disc if you are prone to vaginal/bacterial infections, yeast infections, urinary tract infections, or have other medical, anatomical, or genetic predispositions which may increase your risk for these types of infections.

If you experience painful or difficult urination, or an inability to completely empty your bladder while using a Flex menstrual disc, discontinue use immediately and consult with your physician.
